Welcome to the Michigan League for Nursing

The Michigan League for Nursing welcomes you to its website. Since its inception 50 years ago the Michigan League for Nursing has provided a voice and a forum for dialogue for nursing educators at all levels of education, practice clinicians and the public on nursing care and nursing education in Michigan.

The Michigan League for Nursing provides numerous programs addressing the complex issues of nursing education and clinical practice. We have established a scholarship fund which every year provides funds for Michigan nursing students.

Being a part of the MLN will put you in touch with individuals who are making a difference and achieving success in healthcare. Through our programs, special interest groups, and general meetings there are many opportunities for networking with colleagues.

Michigan League for Nursing offices are now at the Michigan Health Council, a nonprofit devoted to health workforce issues.

Key Findings of Nationwide NLN-Carnegie Foundation Study of Nurse Educators Released
Examination of Compensation Practices Suggests Solutions to Challenges of Nurse Faculty Recruitment & Retention. A newly published report on America's estimated 32,000 nurse educators shows that poor compensation may hinder recruitment and retention efforts as nursing schools battle a critical faculty shortage. The report, a profile of faculty at both public and private institutions of higher learning, compared compensation of nurse educators to that of their counterparts in other academic disciplines, as well as to nurses with equivalent credentials in clinical practice and other non-academic settings.
