The purpose of the Michigan League for Nursing is:

To promote professional growth and continuous quality improvement of educators for the nursing workforce

To enhance collaboration between nursing education and healthcare delivery systems

To support recruitment for the nursing workforce

Since 1952, the Michigan League for Nursing (MLN) has provided members with the resources that they need for professional and personal growth. Today, MLN is comprised of more than 1,000 individual nurses, healthcare professionals, consumers and more than 125 health care agencies.

Our membership includes staff nurses, nursing administrators, healthcare organizations, nurse educators, schools of nursing, nursing students, and medical service and supply organizations.

MLN is a constituent of the National League for Nursing, a nonprofit coalition of individuals and agencies that works to assure quality health care through the continuous improvement of nursing education and practice.

Carole has been involved in education at the secondary and post-secondary levels. Teaching obstetrics and pediatrics at Borgess Hospital School of Nursing and at Kalamazoo Valley Community College. As program manager at the Van Buren Technology Center, she designed the Health Occupations program and taught for 13 years. In 1990 Carole was appointed the curriculum specialist for Health Occupations at the Michigan Department of Education, and in 1998 became the director of curriculum for the Office of Career and Technical Preparation. Since 1983 Carole has been an associate faculty member at Western Michigan University. She has been a member of MLN for 10 years, and served on the board of directors and Career Center Committee.

Anne joined the Michigan Health Council in December 2003. Anne's responsibilities include: Marketing/Public Relations, and working with the Michigan Center for Nursing and the Michigan Center for Health Professions and the Michigan League for Nursing. Anne is the editor of the Michigan Center for Nursing - Updates, an electronic newsletter reaching over 40,000 nurses in Michigan. Anne has been involved in planning the Nursing in Michigan: "It's A Guy Thing, Too!" Nurse Recruitment Poster campaign, the MED PALS E-Mentoring Project, and in planning the NurseWalks (5K walking events). Anne has a background in corporate marketing and is a Michigan State University graduate
