Welcome to the Michigan League for Nursing
The Michigan League for Nursing welcomes you to its website. Since its inception 50 years ago the Michigan League for Nursing has provided a voice and a forum for dialogue for nursing educators at all levels of education, practice clinicians and the public on nursing care and nursing education in Michigan. The MLN provides numerous programs addressing the complex issues of nursing education and clinical practice. The MLN has established a scholarship fund which provides funds for Michigan nursing students.

MLN is a constituent of the National League for Nursing, a nonprofit coalition of individuals and agencies that works to assure quality health care through the continuous improvement of nursing education and practice. The MLN office is located at the Michigan Health Council, a nonprofit devoted to health workforce issues.

    2008 Michigan Nursing Summit - July 30-31 in Livonia

    • The Michigan Center for Nursing and the Michigan League for Nursing, in partnership with the University of Michigan Health System, will host the Michigan Nursing Summit Wednesday, July 30 - Thursday, July 31, 2008 at the Radisson Hotel and Conference Center in Livonia.

    Geriatrics Workshop July 30, 2008 in Livonia

    This Geriatric workshop, entitled Integrating Geriatrics Nursing Best Practices Into The CNA Curriculum will focus on strategies for teaching the essential components of the Certified Nursing Assistant Curriculum. Emphasis will also be placed on how the nursing assistant can maintain a safe environment for older adults. Click here for Brochure

    Nurses Care for People Activity Book

    2007 Nursing Licensure Data

    In 2007, the Michigan Center for Nursing conducted the fourth annual survey of nurses licensed in Michigan to collect data on their employment status, geographic distribution, age, plans to continue practicing, work setting, practice area, education, gender, and racial/ethnic background. Combined responses from a mailed survey and Web-based survey resulted in a total of 43,676 registered nurse (RN) responded and returned this survey and 9,098 licensed practical nurse (LPN) returned surveys.
